Chihuahua / Mixed (long coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Small Learn more about the Chihuahua.
In early February Fiona was found in a rainstorm running loose near the Fruitvale BART station. Although she was posted at the local shelter no one has come forward to claim her as his or her own. Her foster mom has been fostering her for over two months, hoping that her family would connect with the shelter.
Fiona is an absolute angel. She is 5 pounds of Chihuahua love, we think she is about 2 years old. She is very people oriented, and would like nothing better than to cuddle up on a warm lap. She is extremely calm, but is always excited to see her people; Fiona will literally dance around in excitement with a big silly smile on her face, when her person walks through the door. Although she is little, she has a very big personality. Fiona does exceptionally well with both the elderly and children over 8. She is very gentle, yet playful. She has been known to go to the movies and sit quietly for the entire two hours (It wasn’t even Lassie or Rin Tin Tin). Fiona gets along well with other dogs and calm cats.
Fiona ideal home: someone who is not gone 8-10 hours a day (unless there is another dog companion for Fiona), preferably a stay at home mom or dad, a retired person, someone who works from home, or someone who would be willing to take Fiona to work. And children over 8 years.
